Grade Five Mathematics - Course description
The fifth grade mathematics curriculum is built around the Common Core State Standards. In fifth grade mathematics, the focus is on three critical areas of study. The first develops fluency with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of fractions. The second extends division problems to two digit divisors, integrates decimal fractions into the place value system, and develops understanding of operations with decimals to hundredths. The third develops an understanding of volume.
