Your child is beginning to study American history. In Unit 1, The Land and Early People, we will be discussing the following essential questions:
- What are the land-forms, bodies of water, and weather patterns of the various regions of North America?
- How do people use the land its resources to meet their needs?
- What are the theories about when and how the earliest Americans arrived? What do we know about how and where they lived?
- How did geography and climate affect the lifeways of the native peoples living in the Eastern Woodlands, the Plains, the Southwest and West, the Pacific Northwest and the Arctic?
We began exploring and previewing our unit today with a brainstorm about what we already knew about the earliest Americans. Check it out!
